【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구국제고등학교(교장 백채경)가 대구광역시 북구의회 의원단과 함께 ‘지역정책 아카데미’를 개최했다.

지난 24일 대구국제고는 시그니처 교육활동의 일환으로, 다함께 살아가는 우리 지역 사회의 발전과 지역 공동체의 번영을 도모하는‘지역정책 아카데미’를 성황리에 개최했다는 소식을 전했다.

국제계열 전문인재 양성을 위해 지난해 개교한 대구국제고는 전 교과에 걸쳐 ‘탐구-실행-성찰’이라는 교육활동 원리를 바탕으로 학생 자기주도적 탐구 활동과 글로벌 인재양성 교육을 내실화해오고 있다. 

이를 위한 교과&창의적 체험활동 연계 교육활동으로 재학생은 3년 동안 정기적으로 정책 아카데미를 개최한다. 

이번 정책 아카데미는 지난 1학기 동안 현장 연구를 거쳐 학생들이 추천한 4팀의 ‘지역 사회를 변화시키는 정책 제안’으로 시작했다. 지역 의원으로 대구 북구 의회의 장영철 의원, 장윤영 의원, 허정수 의원이 함께 참여해 정책 제안 워크숍의 형태로 공동 토론하고, 정책으로서의 실효성과 완성도에 대해 평가하는 시간을 가졌다. 

이날 북구의회 장영철 의원은 정책 평가 발언을 통해“대구국제고 학생들이 지역 사회 현안에 대한 구체적이고 발전적인 정책을 제안해주어, 이를 통해 다양한 의정 아이디어를 갖게 되어서 너무 뜻깊고 감동적인 행사였다.”라고 총평하면서, “‘학교-지역—세계’를 넘나드는 정책 아카데미의 활성화를 통해, 개인의 성장과 공동체의 변화를 이끌어내는 진정한 세계인으로 거듭날 것이라 확신한다.” 고 전했다.
