이와 관련 홍준표 대구시장은 페이스북을 통해 “민노총 소속 대형마트 일부 직원들이 시청사에 난입한 것은 중대한 범죄”라며 “일벌백계 하지 않으면 앞으로도 이런 일이 또 일어날 수 밖에 없기 때문에 경찰에 엄중히 대처해 달라고 요청했다.”고 글을 올렸는데 이에 대해 진보당 대구시당은 “강압적 말들을 총동원한, 고색찬연한 8,90년대 담화문을 보는 듯하다.”며 질타했다.

진보당 대구시당은 “법조항을 세세히 동원해 처벌의 가이드라인까지 제시하는 참으로 전례없이 낯설고 살벌한 풍경”이라고 말했다.

그러면서 “그동안 일요휴무변경과 관련해 노동자의 목소리를 듣는 그 어떠한 절차도 허용되지 않았고, 유통재벌사 이익을 위한 일방적 선언과 마이웨이만 존재할 뿐이었다.”며 “지난 19일 벌어진 사건은 당사자이면서 배제된 노동자들의 응당한 행위였고 도리어 과잉대응으로 사태를 키운 것이 대구시의 태도.”라고 꼬집었다.

이어 “어느 정도 예상은 되었지만 연행과 법적 처벌 운운이라는 초강수 대응으로 참담하고 천박한 노동 인식을 막무가내로 드러내는 걸 보자니 아연실색할 수밖에 없다.”고 안타까움을 밝혔다.

이들은 “민주노총과 노조를 아예 비시민 취급하겠다는 전쟁선포에 다름 아니다.”고 전하며 “노조혐오와 법과 원칙을 무기로 윤석열 정부가 뛰니 홍 시장은 알아서 더 높이 뛰고 있는 것.”이라고 강조했다.

아울러 진보당 대구시당은 “시정이 홍 시장 정치가도의 실험장인가?”라고 지적하며 “(구속수사를) 당장 멈추라.”고 덧붙였다.
