【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국민의힘 당대표 주자로 나선 황교안 전 미래통합당(국민의힘 전신) 대표가 대구경북지역을 찾아 특별기자회견을 개최했다.

26일 국민의힘 대구시당에서 가진 기자회견에서 황교안 전 대표는 “(미래통합당)당 대표 당시 꿈 꿨던 것이 있었는데 중간에 그것이 막혔다.”면서 “여전히 나라가 어렵고 당도 어려운 상황이다. 넘어진 곳에서 다시 시작하고자 한다. 나라를 살리고 국민들의 비전을 이뤄갈 수 있도록 하겠다는 소명과 책임의식에서 당 대표에 다시 도전하게 되었다.”고 말했다.

이날 황 전 대표는 나경원 전 의원이 바로 전 날 불출마를 선언한 것에 대해 “나 전 의원은 제가 당 대표이던 때 원내대표로 1년 2개월 간 한 몸처럼 일했다. 당시 조국을 쫓아내는 등 여러 가지 노력들을 했는데 아까운 인재가 불출마를 해 안타깝고 마음이 아프다.”고 입장을 밝혔다.

또한 김기현 의원이 황 전 대표를 수도권 필패한 당 대표라고 표현하는 것에 대해 “당시 같이 필패하지 않았나? 중요한 보직을 맡아 핵심에서 역할 하셨다. 모두의 책임인데 누구 책임이라고 따지는 것은 유치한 일”이라고 비판했다.

그러면서 황 전 대표는 김 의원에 대해 “결기 있게 잘 했나? 한 길을 가는 것이 필요한데 그런 부분에서 국민들이 다시 평가를 할 것이라고 생각한다.”고 말했다.

이어 또 다른 당대표 주자인 안철수 의원에 대해서는 “얼마전까지 민주당에 계시던 분 아닌가? 충분히 검증되지 않은 분이 리더가 되는 것에는 부정적”이라며 입장을 밝혔다.

한편 황교안 전 대표는 박근혜 전 대통령과의 소통에 대해 묻는 기자의 질문에 “개인적으로 뵌 일은 없다.”면서 “길이 잘 없더라.”고 말했다.

그러면서 “오는 2월 박근혜 전 대통령 탄신일에는 따뜻한 밥 한 끼라도 할 수 있는 길을 준비하고 있고 함께 했던 분들의 뜻도 전하기 위한 노력을 하고 있다.”고 덧붙였다.
