【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국립공원공단 팔공산국립공원서부사무소(소장 이정우)가 멸종위기야생생물(Ⅱ급) ‘대흥란’을 발견했다고 22일 밝혔다.

지난 9일 팔공산국립공원 은해사지구에서 발견된 ‘대흥란’은 환경부가 멸종위기야생생물Ⅱ급에 지정한 난초과 여러해살이 부생식물(腐生植物)이다.

보통 7~8월에 흰색 또는 분홍색의 꽃이 피고 우리나라에는 전남 남해안 일부, 전북, 경남 등 일부 지역에만 분포하는 희귀식물로 알려진다.

팔공산 국립공원사무소는 지난 7월부터 팔공산 전역에 걸쳐 ‘국립공원 시민과학자’와 본격적인 합동조사를 실시해오던 중 ‘대흥란’ 서식지를 발견하게 되었다고 설명했다.

 ‘대흥란’ 서식지는 그늘지고 낙엽이 쌓여 부식질이 많은 환경으로, 올해 이상기후에 의해 더운 여름이 지속되어 개화 시기가 늦어진 것으로 추정된다.

또한 정밀 조사를 통해 인근에서 마른 꽃대 상태의 11개체가 추가 발견되어 군락지의 가능성이 비치면서 연구진과 학계가 반색하고 있다.

팔공산국립공원서부사무소 이승준 자원보전과장은 “멸종위기야생생물 Ⅱ급인 ‘대흥란’의 발견은 국립공원과 시민과학자의 상호협력이 빛을 발한 쾌거”라며 “앞으로도 국립공원 시민과학자와 함께 지속적인 모니터링을 진행하여 팔공산의 자생식물 발굴과 서식지 보전 및 관리에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

The ‘Daehungran’ habitat is a shaded environment with a lot of humus due to the accumulation of fallen leaves, and it is presumed that the flowering period was delayed due to the hot summer that continued this year due to the abnormal climate.

In addition, through a detailed investigation, 11 additional dried flower stalks were discovered nearby, raising the possibility of a colony, and the research team and academic circles are delighted.
