【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청이 광복 80주년을 맞아 선열들의 숭고한 뜻을 기리는 뜻깊은 행사를 개최했다.

임종식 교육감이 이끄는 경북교육청은 13일 오후 2시 본청 웅비관에서 '광복 80주년 기념행사: 되찾은 그날의 빛! 경북교육으로 다시 빛나다'를 열었다고 밝혔다.

행사는 독립운동가들의 정신을 기리고 미래세대를 향한 도약을 다짐하기 위해 마련됐다. 지역 독립운동가 후손과 광복회, 보훈단체협의회, 경상북도의회 박채아 교육위원장, 학부모 대표 등이 함께했다.

비보브라스의 관악 연주와 경북교육가족 합창단의 애국가 제창, 호국영령에 대한 묵념으로 문을 연 행사는 광복회 경북지부 정대영 지부장의 기념사와 임종식 교육감, 박채아 위원장의 경축사로 이어졌다. 백하 김대락 선생의 후손 김세훈 씨가 기미독립선언서를 낭독하는 순서도 있었다.

김천예고 경북뮤지컬예술학급 학생들이 선보인 주제공연 '되찾은 그날의 빛!'이 눈길을 끌었다. '당신을 기억합니다', '황후마마여', '아! 임청각', '가난한 유서', '대한이 살았다' 등의 곡을 통해 독립운동가들의 정신을 기렸다.

 '광복 80주년 기념 영상'을 통해 경북교육청이 추진해 온 나라사랑 교육 프로그램도 소개됐다. 2019년부터 운영해 온 국외 독립운동길 순례단, 국내 독립운동길 탐방 동아리, 교원 독도탐사단, 나라사랑 교육 주간 등의 활동이 담겼다.

경북지역 독립유공자 후손 10명에게는 장학금이 전달됐다. 신돌석 의병장의 증손인 포항제철중학교 신민아 학생 등이 수혜자로 선정됐다.

웅비관 로비에서는 포토월 운영과 독립운동사 만화책을 비치한 '만화카페 광복' 등 다양한 이벤트가 진행됐다. 참석자들은 굿네이버스를 통한 독립운동가 후손 고려인 후원에 참여하고, 독립운동사 만화책을 나눔받을 수 있었다.

임종식 교육감은 "광복은 수많은 독립운동가의 희생과 헌신이 만든 값진 역사"라고 말했다. 이어 "후손들이 이를 잊지 않고 나라사랑 정신을 이어갈 수 있도록 교육에 최선을 다하겠다"고 다짐했다.

The Gyeongbuk Office of Education, led by Superintendent Lim Jong-sik, announced that it held the "80th Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Day Commemoration Ceremony: The Light of That Day Regained! Shining Again with Gyeongbuk Education" at 2:00 PM on the 13th at the Woongbi Hall in the main office.

The event was designed to honor the spirit of independence activists and pledge to leap forward for future generations. Descendants of local independence activists, the Korean Liberation Association, the Council of Veterans Organizations, Park Chae-ah, Chairwoman of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council's Education Committee, and parent representatives attended.

The event opened with a wind instrument performance by the Bibo Brass, the singing of the national anthem by the Gyeongbuk Education Family Choir, and a moment of silence to pay tribute to the fallen heroes. The event was followed by commemorative remarks from Jeong Dae-yeong, Chairwoman of the Gyeongbuk Branch of the Korean Liberation Association, and congratulatory remarks from Superintendent Lim Jong-sik and Chairwoman Park Chae-ah. Kim Se-hoon, a descendant of Baekha Kim Dae-rak, also read the Gimi Independence Declaration.

The theme performance, "The Light of That Day Regained!" by students from the Gyeongbuk Musical Arts Class at Gimcheon Arts High School, drew attention. They honored the spirit of independence activists through songs such as "I Remember You," "Empress Mama," "Ah! Imcheonggak," "Poor Will," and "Daehan Lived."

The "80th Anniversary of Liberation Commemorative Video" also introduced the Gyeongbuk Office of Education's patriotic education programs. These programs included overseas pilgrimages to independence movement trails, a domestic independence movement trail exploration club, a teacher Dokdo exploration team, and the Love of Country Education Week, which have been in operation since 2019.

Scholarships were awarded to ten descendants of independence activists in the Gyeongbuk region. Shin Min-a, a student at Pohang Jecheol Middle School and the great-granddaughter of Shin Dol-seok, a righteous army general, was selected as a recipient.

The Woongbi Hall lobby hosted various events, including a photo wall and the "Comic Cafe Gwangbok," featuring comic books on the independence movement. Attendees participated in supporting descendants of Korean independence activists through Good Neighbors and received comic books on the independence movement.

Superintendent of Education Lim Jong-sik stated, "Liberation is a valuable history created through the sacrifices and dedication of countless independence activists." He pledged, "We will do our best to educate future generations so they will not forget this legacy and carry on the spirit of patriotism."
