민주당은 이같은  근거로 지난 1일 서문시장 등을 방문한 윤석열 대통령에게 달성군 대구교도소 후적지에 국립 뮤지컬 콤플렉스(뮤지컬 전용 극장)와 국립 근대미술관 건립 방안에 대해 지원을 요청한 것을 근거로 들었다.

민주당이 이같은 요청에 의심을 하는 이유는 이번에 요청한 뮤지컬 콤플렉스 및 근대미술관과 같은 문화 컨텐츠는 이미 현 시청별관으로 사용되는 북구 산격동 옛 경북도청 터를 2028년까지‘문화사업 허브’로 복합문화공간을 조성한다고 밝혔기 때문이다. 당시 2021년도 12월에 후보였던 윤 대통령도 이같은 구상에 긍정적 입장을 제시한 바 있다는 것.

민주당은 ”교통 여건 등 입지 여건이 상대적으로 월등히 앞서는 산격 청사의 드림을 일순간에 접고 입지도 안 좋은 외곽에, 원래 계획을 뒤엎으면서 일을 진행하는 것을 이해할 수 없다”며 “원래 계획을 뒤엎으려는 놀부 심보가 또 발동한 것이냐”고 의문을 제기했다. 

또 민주당 대구시당은 “이번엔 무엇이 그의 심기를 건드렸는가? 이쯤 되면 음모가 있을 수밖에 없는데,  요즘 행간에 홍준표-추경호 밀약설이 나온다”고 했다. 밀약설의 주 내용은 다음 시장을 추경호 의원에게 물려주려 한다는 것.

그러면서 민주당은 “느닷없는 가창면의 수성구 편입도 수상하고 농수산물 도매시장도 달성군으로, 이번에 복합문화단지도 달성군으로 가는 것을 보면 의심이 확신으로 번져간다”면서 “두 사업 모두 국가 예산 투입 사업으로 무언가 이상하다”고 꼬집었다.

민주당은 또 홍준표 시장이 개혁을 주장하며 구습 타파를 외치고 있지만 실제로는 본인이 개혁과제들을 지체없이 파괴하고 있다고도 지적했다.

민주당 대구시당은 “(홍 시장이)‘오비이락(烏飛梨落)’하지 말고 대구의 미래를 위해 효율적 판단으로 대구 전체 시민에게 균형 있게 발전할 수 있는 발판을 만들어 주길 강력히 요구한다”고 거듭 강조했다.

이에 대하여 홍준표 시장은 자신의 페이스북에 “대구 미래 50년 구상을 하는데 특정 구청,군청을 보고 시정을 추진하지 않는다”며 “대구시 미래 50년을 보고 도시 재배치를 하고 있다”고 반박했다. 

그러면서 “(내게는) 어느 곳이라도 모두 대구광역시이고, 도시의 균형발전과 신속한 업무추진을 고려해서 모든 시정을 추진한다”고 거듭 강조했다. 

홍 시장은 “혁신에 저항이 왜 없겠느냐? 그러나 일부 정치단체, 시민단체에서 우기는 찌라시같은 페이크 뉴스에는 대구시민들이 현혹되지 마시길 당부드린다”고 역설했다.
