이날 국회 소통관에서 기자회견을 개최한 전교조 대구지부는 “강은희 교육감이 AI 교과서를 채택하는 과정에 개입해 학교와 교사의 의견을 무시하고, 도입을 강요했다”며 “고발장을 접수할 예정”이라고 말했다.

이들은 “지난 달 31일 교육부가 공문에서 '2025년에는 희망하는 학교에서 사용 예정인 학년·교과목의 AI 교과서를 자율적으로 선정한다'고 명시한 부분을 대구시교육청이 자의적으로 빼서 전달했다”고 주장했다.

그러면서 “전국 시도별 AI 교과서 평균 채택률이 32% 정도인데, 대구 채택률은 98%로 압도적”이라며 “교과협의회 소속 교사들 AI교과서 미선정 의견이 다수였지만, 학교장이 대구교육청의 전면 도입 방침을 언급하며 선정을 종용했고 대구교육청에서도 학교 관리자에게 AI교과서를 선정하라는 압박을 가했다”고 비판했다.

전교조는 “학교의 자율성과 권한을 침해한 것”이라며 “교육청이 AI교과서 도입을 강요했다는 진실을 밝혀내기 위해 법적 책임을 끝까지 물을 것”이라고 강조했다.

대구시교육청 관계자는 “디지털교과서 전면도입을 목표로 한 것은 맞지만 강제한 적은 없다”는 입장을 밝혔다.
