이 지사는 먼저 전통시장과 기업 현장을 잇따라 방문하며 민생경제 회복 행보에 나섰다. 9일에는 2021년 대형 화재로 전소됐다가 현대식 시설로 재건축된 영덕시장의 재개장식에 참석해 새롭게 단장한 시장 시설을 둘러보고, 오랜 기간 불편을 감내해 온 상인들을 격려했다. 이어 상인들과의 간담회를 통해 전통시장 활성화와 지역 상권 회복을 위한 애로사항과 건의사항을 청취했다.

10일에는 경주 성동시장을 찾아 설 명절 장보기에 나서 제수용품과 농수산물을 직접 구매하고, 온누리상품권 환급행사장을 방문해 명절을 앞두고 활기를 되찾은 전통시장 분위기를 체감했다.

이철우 도지사는 “설 명절을 앞두고 민생 현장을 직접 찾아 도민과 상인, 기업인의 이야기를 가까이에서 들을 수 있었다”며 “현장에서 전해준 목소리를 바탕으로 도민의 일상이 조금이나마 더 나아질 수 있도록 도정에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다. 이어 “경북 경제와 민생이 엄중한 시기인 만큼 첫째도 민생, 둘째도 민생, 셋째도 민생이라는 각오로 민생을 최우선에 두고 세밀하게 챙기겠다”고 강조했다.
