경북 구미의 한 저수지 빙판 위에서 놀던 중학생들이 물에 빠졌으나 소방당국에 의해 전원 구조됐다.

10일 구미소방서 등에 따르면 지난 9일 12시 51분쯤 구미시 선산읍 봉남리 저수지 빙판에서 놀던 중학생 3명이 저수지 가장자리를 지나오다 얇은 얼음이 깨지면서 물에 빠졌다. 일행 4명 중 1명이 먼저 물에 빠지자 이를 구하러 다른 2명이 뒤따라 뛰어들었지만 모두 빠져 나오지 못한 것으로 알려졌다.

신고를 받고 즉각 출동한 구조대원들에 의해 물에 빠진 3명 모두 무사히 구조돼 인근 병원으로 이송되었으며 생명에는 큰 지장이 없는 것으로 알려졌다.

정훈탁 구미소방서장은 “겨울철 저수지 얼음이 두껍게 얼은 것처럼 보이더라도 숨구멍 등 온난화로 인해 아직 얇게 언 부분이 있다”며 “하중이 가해지면 얼음이 깨져 사고가 발생할 수 있으니 저수지, 하천 등 얼음 위로 이동을 반드시 삼가 달라”고 당부했다.
