이양호 구미시장 예비후보가 대구‧경북통합신공항 배후도시 건설과 교통거점 매가허브 구축을 공약으로 밝혔다.

그는 “특히 통합신공항은 국제공항의 성격을 띠고 있는 만큼 물류단지에 세계적인 물류기업 혹은 국내 유수의 물류기업을 유치해 종합물류 기능을 제공함으로써 고부가가치를 창출시켜나갈 수 있도록 하겠다.”고 강조했다.

이를 위해 이 예비후보는 “서대구-신공항으로 연결되는 공항철도를 구미 5공단 경유 노선으로 변경하고, 북구미 IC -군위 JC간 고속도로 조기 구축, 2023년 개통을 앞둔 경산-구미 광역철도 건설 사업의 순조로운 추진, KTX 구미역 정차 조기 추진, 사곡역- 산단간 철도 노선 조기 추진 등이 적기에 이뤄질 수 있도록 할 필요가 있다”고 강조했다.
