이에 대구참여연대는 “안건들을 돌연 재심사하는 것은 ‘홍준표의 거수기’라는 평가를 확정해 주는 것이나 다름없다.”고 비판하며 “대구 시민을 대표하여 시정을 견제해야 할 시의회의 위상과 역할을 포기하고, 홍 시장의 독주를 정당화하는 절차적 수단으로 전락한 것 개탄스럽다.”고 꼬집었다.
