【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청과 경북도교육청이 오는 14일 영덕군 장사상륙작전전승기념공원 일대에서 ‘1950의 너, 2025의 나’를 주제로 ‘평화로·미래로 호국길 걷기’ 행사를 함께 연다.
이번 행사는 6·25전쟁 당시 희생한 학도병들의 용기를 기리고 평화와 통일의 의미를 되새기기 위해 마련됐다.
대구와 경북 교육청이 공동 주관하는 이번 행사에는 학생과 학부모, 교직원, 6·25 참전용사 및 유가족 등 약 1,000명이 참여한다.
참가자들은 남정초등학교를 출발해 장사해수욕장과 전승기념비까지 약 2km 구간을 걷는다. 걷는 도중에는 1950년 학도병들의 희생정신을 되새기고 평화의 중요성을 느낄 수 있는 퍼포먼스가 펼쳐진다.
장사상륙작전은 1950년 9월 14일부터 19일까지 영덕 일대에서 772명의 학도병이 참여해 치열한 전투를 벌인 역사적 사건으로, 이후 인천상륙작전과 낙동강 전선 반격에 중요한 역할을 한 것으로 평가받는다.
한 학부모는 “6·25전쟁의 역사적 의미를 자녀와 함께 되새기며 평화의 가치를 다시 생각하는 소중한 시간이었다”고 소감을 전했다.
이번 행사는 대구·경북 지역이 함께 평화와 미래를 향한 뜻을 모으는 자리로 의미를 더했다.

Participants will start from Namjeong Elementary School and walk about 2km to Jangsa Beach and the Victory Monument. During the walk, a performance will be held to reflect on the sacrifices of the student soldiers in 1950 and to feel the importance of peace.
The Jangsa Landing Operation was a historical event in which 772 student soldiers fought fiercely in the Yeongdeok area from September 14 to 19, 1950. It is evaluated to have played an important role in the Incheon Landing Operation and the Nakdong River Front counterattack.
A parent said, “It was a valuable time to reflect on the historical significance of the Korean War with my children and think again about the value of peace.”
This event was more meaningful as it was a place where the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions gathered together to pursue peace and the future.
