【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구광역시는 2일 허 소 더불어민주당 대구광역시당위원장 외 지역위원장 7명을 무고죄로 대구지방검찰청에 고발했다고 밝혔다.

허 위원장 등이 지난 19일 대구시가 동대구역 광장에 박정희 광장 표지판을 설치한 것을 두고 “영구시설물 축조를 금지한 국유재산법 제18조 제1항 등을 위반했다“며 홍준표 대구시장을 국유재산법 위반죄로 대구지방검찰청에 고발한 데 따른 조치다.

대구시는 ”‘철도의 건설 및 철도시설 유지관리에 관한 법률’ 제17조에서는 철도건설사업으로 조성 또는 설치된 토지 및 시설은 준공과 동시에 국가에 귀속된다고 규정하고 있으나, 동대구역 광장은 아직 준공이 나지 않은 상태“라며 ”2017년부터 115억 원의 시비를 들여 동대구역 광장을 대구시가 관리하고 있고, 캐노피, 관광안내소, 간이무대, 그늘막 등을 설치해 운영하고 있다“고 국유재산 위반 의혹을 반박했다.

대구시는 또 ”동대구역 광장에 대한 대구시의 관리권한은 이미 2016년경 한국철도공사와 국가철도공단에 의해 인정됐고, 국토교통부는 지난 21일 국회 국토교통위원회에서 동대구역 광장은 아직 준공 처리가 안 된 상태로 대구시장이 관리권자“라고 거듭 강조했다. 

그러면서 ”대구시가 동대구역 광장에 시설물을 설치할 수 있는데도 불구하고, 국유재산법상의 절차를 거치지 않고 박정희 대통령 표지판을 설치했다는 허 위원장 등의 주장은 사실과 다르다“고 무고죄 고발 배경을 설명했다. 대구시는 ”무고가 인정되면 10년 이하의 징역 또는 1,500만 원 이하의 벌금에 처해진다“고 덧붙였다. 

한편, 대구시는 지난 8월 14일 동대구역 광장에 스테인리스스틸로 제작한 높이 5미터, 폭 80센티미터 크기의 박정희 광장 표지판을 설치했다.

Daegu City also emphasized, “Daegu City’s management authority over Dongdaegu Station Plaza was already recognized by Korea Railroad Corporation and the National Railroad Corporation around 2016, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport repeatedly emphasized at the National Assembly Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee on the 21st that Dongdaegu Station Plaza has not yet been completed and the Mayor of Daegu City has the management authority.”

In the process, he explained the background of the false accusation accusation, saying, “The claim by Chairman Heo and others that Daegu City installed the President Park Chung-hee signboard without going through the National Property Act procedures, despite being able to install facilities in the Dongdaegu Station plaza, is different from the truth.” Daegu City added, “If a false accusation is recognized, the person will be subject to imprisonment for up to 10 years or a fine of up to 15 million won.” Meanwhile, Daegu City installed a 5-meter-tall, 80-centimeter-wide Park Chung-hee plaza signboard made of stainless steel in the Dongdaegu Station plaza on August 14.
