포항시는 국토교통부 주관 공모사업에서 ‘우리동네살리기’에 이어 ‘생활밀착형 스마트재생’ 분야까지 연이어 선정되며, 청림·일월동 도시재생 사업을 본격 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이번 공모 선정으로 포항시는 국비 57억 800만 원을 포함해 총 106억 2,200만 원의 사업비를 확보했으며, 2026년부터 단계적으로 도시재생 프로젝트를 추진할 계획이다.

특히 이번 사업은 경북도 내 최초로 ‘비대면 진료’를 도시재생에 접목한 점에서 주목받고 있다. 의료기관과 대중교통 등 생활 인프라가 부족하고 고령 인구 비율이 높은 쇠퇴 지역의 특성을 반영해, ‘의료 접근성 향상을 통한 스마트 도시재생’을 주제로 추가 공모에 도전한 끝에 최종 선정되는 성과를 거뒀다.

도입되는 비대면 진료 서비스는 이동이 불편한 고령자와 만성질환자의 의료 접근성을 개선하고, 기존 환경 정비 중심의 도시재생 범위를 의료·돌봄 등 생활 서비스 영역으로 확장하는 데 목적이 있다. 경증 질환과 만성질환을 중심으로 상시 건강관리를 지원해 의료 공백을 줄이고 주민 삶의 질을 높일 방침이다.

포항시의 비대면 진료는 휴대전화 기반이 아닌 키오스크 방식으로 운영된다. 화면이 작고 사용이 어려웠던 기존 모바일 방식의 한계를 보완해, 넓은 화면과 직관적인 인터페이스를 통해 고령층도 쉽게 이용할 수 있도록 했다. 여기에 혈압·체온 측정 등 기초 건강 정보까지 연계해 보다 객관적이고 신뢰도 높은 진료 환경을 구축할 계획이다.
