【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자= 대구 달서구(구청장 이태훈)는 오는 11월 30일까지 초·중학생을 대상으로 ‘2022 찾아가는 달서 반려동물 문화교실’을 운영한다고 밝혔다.
최근 반려동물로 인한 어린이 개물림 사고 및 이웃 간의 갈등과 분쟁이 지속되고, 반려동물에 대한 이해와 문제행동에 대처방안이 부족해 유기동물 발생의 원인이 되고 있다.
이에 달서구는 예비 반려인인 초·중학생을 대상으로 반려동물 양육에 대한 사전 교육을 실시해 서로 존중하며 배려하는 반려동물 문화를 정착하고자 한다.
교육은 관내 초·중학교의 사전 신청을 받아 7개교 초·중학생 680명을 대상으로 유기·유실동물의 슬픔 이해와 예방법, 반려동물 입양 준비와 마음가짐 , 반려동물 양육 시 주의사항과 올바른 펫티켓, 반려동물 행동교정 등 반려동물 행동전문가가 학교를 방문해 학생들에게 직접 반려동물을 다룰 수 있는 체험강의로 진행할 예정이다.
이태훈 달서구청장은 “이번 교육을 통해 학생들이 올바른 펫티켓을 배우고, 생명존중 가치를 실현해 반려동물로 인한 사회적 갈등 해소에 도움이 되기를 바란다.”며, “달서구는 다양한 반려동물 정책사업을 선도적으로 추진하여 반려인과 비반려인 모두가 행복한 반려동물 친화도시조성에 앞장서겠다.”고 말했다.
