25일 제9대 대구시의회 후반기 국민의힘 의장 후보로 이만규 현 의장이 선출돼 전반기에 이어 연임이 결정됐다.

이날 오전 10시 대구시의회 대회의실에서는 대구시의원 32명이 출석한 가운데 후반기 의장선거가 진행됐다.

의장 후보 투표 결과 이만규 의장은 24표를 얻어 7표를 얻은 김대현 시의원을 누르고 연임에 성공했다. 기권표도 1표 나왔다.

이만규 의장은 “여러분의 선택은 후반기에 산적한 모든 일들을 잘 처리하라는 뜻”이라며 “대구시민들을 위해서 우리 시의회를 위해서 분골쇄신 열심히 하겠다”는 소감을 전했다.
