서재헌 예비후보는 “단순한 공약이 아니라 경험을 활용해서 추진할 예정”이라면서 “대구의 미래와 다음세대를 위해, 대구의 변화와 더 나은 교육을 위해 이기겠다.”는 포부를 전했다.

이어 서 예비후보는 최종후보 확정 여부에 대해 “현재 실질적인 공천은 확정된 것이고 당무위의 의결은 인증절차이다.”라며 “제가 더불어민주당의 후보로 결정된 지는 일주일 정도 되었는데 국민의힘 시장 경선이 있고 해서 배려 차원으로 발표를 늦췄다.”라고 설명했다.

서재헌 예비후보는 “우리 아이들에게 대구에도 파란색이 있다는 것을 보여줘야 한다.”면서 “더불어민주당의 대구시장 예비후보로 최선을 다하고 이후의 결과는 책임을 지겠다.”며 기자회견을 마무리 했다.
