지난 22일 경북도청 119작전회의실에서 진행된 이번 업무협약은 최근 기후변화의 영향으로 증가하고 있는 산불 발생 시 전력선로 및 전기시설 등 정보를 공유함으로써 국민의 생명과 재산, 산림을 보호하기 위해 이뤄졌다고 경북도가 23일 밝혔다.

이날 협약은 산불 발생 정보 공유, 산불 대응 및 시설물 보호를 위한 송전탑 등 설비 정보 제공, 대형 산불 등 발생 시 한국전력119 재난구조단 적극 지원, 한국전력 KEPCO119 재난구조단 교육훈련 지원 등에 협력하기로 했다.

특히 이번 업무협약을 계기로 산불 발생 시 실시간 정보 공유 등을 통해 산불 대응 역량을 강화하는 것은 물론 화재진압 시 배전선로의 긴급휴전으로 소방대원의 안전 확보를 통해 더욱 현장 대응에 집중할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

이영팔 경북도 소방본부장은 “경북소방본부와 한국전력 경북본부는 긴밀한 상호 협력을 강화해 산불 등 산림재해로부터 피해를 최소화하도록 최선의 노력을 다할 것”이라고 말했다. 또, 대다수의 산불은 부주의로 발생하는 만큼 산불 예방의 중요성을 다시 한 번 강조했다.
