28일 오전 이철우 경북도지사는 의성군청 임시청사에서 진행한 언론 브리핑을 통해 “산불로 피해를 입은 5개 시‧군 주민에 대해 30만원씩 긴급재난지원금을 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
이 도지사는 “관내에 계신 주민은 모두가 대상”이라며 “지금 관내 경제가 말이 아니다. 많지는 않지만 우선 지원해서 경제를 돌아가도록 하겠다”고 설명했다.
그러면서 “경북도의회 의장님과 의원들도 공감을 있다”며 “오는 31일 임시회의를 열고 결정해서 바로 지원할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 설명했다.
이 지사는 “산불 대응에 있어 매우 부족했다는 반성을 하고 있다”며 “우리나라 산불 대책에 전반적인 점검이 있어야 한다”고 강조했다.
특히 “야간 산불 진화 시스템, 산불 대피에 대한 새로운 매뉴얼을 만들어야 한다“며 “산불 대응 체계를 완전히 바꿔야 한다”고 덧붙였다.
이철우 지사는 “재난에 대한 대응은 보다 과하게 해야 한다”며 “다시 한 번 국민 여러분께 죄송하다는 말씀 드리며 많이 도와주셔서 감사하다”고 전했다.
