‘세계 물의 날’은 물의 소중함을 알리고 물 문제 해결에 전 세계적 동참을 호소하기 위해 UN이 1992년부터 3월 22일을 지정·선포한 날로 우리나라는 1995년부터 정부 차원의 기념행사를 매년 개최하고 있다.
대구시도 매년 엑스코에서 유관 공공기관과 물기업, 환경단체, 시민이 함께 참여하는 기념식을 개최했으나 작년에는 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 행사를 취소한 바 있다.
그러나 이번 세계 물의 날은 코로나19로 인한 어려움 속에서도 환경부 혁신형 물 기업 10개사에 입주기업 4개사(㈜미드니, ㈜썬텍엔지니어링, ㈜유솔, ㈜퍼펙트)가 선정되는 등 많은 성과를 거두고 있는 국가물산업클러스터 입주기업과 지속적인 소통과 협력을 통한 안정적인 기업 성장에 기여하고자 함께하는 시간을 가졌다.
이날 채홍호 대구시 행정부시장은 국가물산업클러스터를 직접 방문해 이치우 국가물산업클러스터 물산업전략처장, 대구환경공단 정상용 이사장, 최인종 입주기업협의회장을 비롯한 10개 입주기업의 의견을 청취하고 격려를 전했다.
