대구시 한국수자원공사와 함께 15일 오후 2시 대구시청 별관 3층 대회의실에서 모든 시민이 맑고 안전한 물을 마실 수 있도록 물 산업을 발전시키고 일자리를 창출하기 위한 업무협약을 체결한다고 밝혔다.

한국수자원공사는 지난 50여 년간 대한민국 물 관리 역사를 개척하고 있으며, 연구원을 통해 세계선도 기술을 개발해 세계 곳곳의 수많은 프로젝트를 성공적으로 수행하는 등 세계 수준의 경쟁력을 갖춘 물 관리 전문기관이다.

국내 최대 물 관련 공공기관으로 댐관리, 상수도시설, 관망 등 다목적댐을 포함한 물 관리시설 56개 운영으로 전국 최대시설을 보유하고 있다.

대구시는 한국수자원공사와의 이번 협약으로 기술‧제품을 선도하기 위해 공동과제를 발굴해 성과를 공유할 수 있도록 우선구매 등 판로를 지원하고, 정기적으로 구매상담회를 개최 등을 통해 구매가 이루어질 수 있도록 물산업 우수 중소기업 발굴 및 강소기업 육성할 계획이다. 

또한 취수원에서 수도꼭지까지 ICT‧AI 등 지능형 실시간 감시제어, 관리가 가능할 수 있도록 스마트 수도기술 적용 및 확대, 중앙부처의 해외협력사업과 해외사업 진출 시 물기업 동반진출, 유체성능시험센터 건립 및 운영을 위한 협업, 대한민국 국제물주간 활성화, 물관리 기술 등 정보교류 및 상호협력 등 필요한 사항에 힘을 합치기로 했다.

대구시는 물기업 및 물산업 육성을 위해 2019년 6월에 중소벤처기업진흥공단과, 2020년 7월 삼성ENG과 업무협약을 맺은 것에 이어 한국수자원공사와 협약을 통해 물기업의 기술개발 및 수요처 확대, 물기술 발전을 통한 맑은 물 공급과 세계 물기술 트랜드 및 선도기술을 선점과 더불어 해외진출에도 한국수자원공사의 높은 신인도를 통해 국가물산업클러스터의 신인도를 높여 입주기업의 기술‧제품의 동반성장에 크게 이바지할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

권영진 대구시장은 “국가물산업클러스터, 한국물기술인증원과 더불어 한국수자원공사와 협업하면 대한민국의 물 산업 선도뿐만 아니라 세계시장을 선도할 수 있을 것으로 기대되며 이를 실현 할 수 있도록 대구시는 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
