강성환 대구광역시의원(달성 1선거구)이 제8회 전국동시지방선거에서 달성군수 출마를 공식선언하고 의원직을 사퇴한다고 밝혔다.

22일 대구시의회 의원직을 사퇴한 강성환 의원은 달성군수 예비후보 등록을 마치고 본격적인 선거 행보에 나섰다.

이날 오전 10시 출마 선언을 위해 기자간담회를 개최한 강성환 예비후보는 “저를 키워준 고향 달성의 은혜에 보답하는 마음으로 지역 발전에 헌신하고자 출마를 결심하게 되었다"라고 출마 배경을 밝히며, “앞으로 급속하게 변화할 달성군에는 지역을 잘 알고 행정경험이 풍부하고, 군민과의 소통 능력이 탁월한 인물이 필요하다."고 말했다.
