31일 달성군에 따르면 낮 12시 51쯤 달성군 하빈면 기곡리 야산에서 산불이 발생해 산불진화 헬기 7대와 공무원, 소방관 등 200여명을 투입해 4시쯤 진화에 성공했다.
이번 산불로 산림 4ha가 소실되었으나 인명 피해는 발생하지 않았다.
달성군에서는 이번 산불이 인근 창고에서 소각한 잿더미에 의해 발생한 것으로 확인하였으며 실화자를 특정하여 조사 중으로 관련법에 따라 엄중히 처벌할 예정이다.
달성군 공원녹지과장은 “산림보호법 제53조에 따라 과실로 산불을 내더라도 3년 이하 징역이나 3천만원 이하 벌금에 처할 수 있다”며 “가뭄으로 인해 사소한 부주의가 큰불로 이어지는 만큼 산림 인접지에서 불을 피우는 행위는 절대 하지 말아달라”고 당부했다.
