【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=더불어민주당 이재명 대선 경선 후보가 대구를 찾아 “이 지역에 대한 애정 각별하다”고 말했다.

이재명 후보는 18일 오전 10시 대구 북구에 위치한 소이랩에서 열린 ‘웹툰 진흥 간담회’에 참석했다.

이 자리에서 그는 “현대사 인물 중 가장 존경하는 인물 백범 김구 선생께서 ‘무력을 통한 지배보다 정말 가지고 싶은 것은 세계에 자랑할 수 있는 문화의 힘’이라고 말씀하셨다”며 “한국이 세계 문화 소프트파워 12위라지만, 잠재력에 비하면 아직 부족하다”고 말했다.

그러면서 “문화예술인들이 존중받고, 창작 활동이 직업이자 산업으로 자리 잡는 사회를 만들어야 한다”며 “그러려면 문화예술 분야에 대한 예산을 증액하고 지원하고 산업으로 발전시킬 필요가 있다”고 덧붙였다.

간담회 직후 기자들을 만난 이 후보는 “순회 경선 일정의 일환으로 대구를 방문했다”며 “아시다시피 제가 안동에 태를 묻고 또 대구‧경북에 물과 음식을 먹고 자란 사람”이라고 설명했다.

그러면서 “이 지역에 대한 애정도 각별하고 지역 국토 균형 발전에 대한 정책들도 함께 얘기하고 싶었다”는 입장을 밝혔다.
