22일 경북도의회 정례회 본회의를 통해 이철우 도지사는 “올 한해는 새정부와 민선8기가 동시에 출범한 전환의 해이자 대한민국 지방시대의 출발을 알리는 희망의 해였다.”고 말했다.

이어 그는 “경북은 대통령 선거를 거치면서 선도적인 역할을 해왔고 그 결과 경북의 발전을 위한 7대 분야 15대 정책과제가 국정과제로 반영되며 새정부 주요정책을 함께 하고 있다.”고 했다.

그러면서 “경북은 이에 그치지 않고 연구하고 또 연구해 새로운 대한민국을 위한 정책과제들을 내놓고 '지방이 살아야 나라가 산다'는 명제를 국민들이 몸으로 체험할 수 있도록 하겠다.”는 포부를 밝혔다.

이철우 경북도지사는 “2023년도 예산을 12조821억원 규모로 편성했다.”고 밝히며 “복지와 안전분야, 디지털시대 미래먹거리 등 새로운 지방시대에 중점을 두었다.”고 설명했다.

이는 올해 당초예산 11조 2천527억원 보다 7.4%(8천294억 원) 증가한 수준이며 일반회계 10조5천111억원, 특별회계 1조5천710억원, 총 12조821억원으로 구분된다.

또한 “문화관광산업으로 먹고사는 미래를 실현하고 전통시장 등 골목상권의 소상공인 경쟁력 강화와 일자리 취약계층에 대한 기회를 제공하기 위한 예산을 편성하였으며 SOC와 생활기반 강화사업을 꼼꼼하게 챙기기 위한 예산도 담았다.”고 했다.
