이어 그는 “대구경북신공항 특별법에 대한 부울경의 우려 또한 사실과 다르다“며 ”가덕도신공항 특별법 역시 당초‘남부권의 관문공항’,‘인천공항을 대체’와 같은 표현이 있었으나 국회 상임위 심사 과정에서 수정된 바 있다“고 지적했다. 

그러면서 “법안의 일부 표현은 국회 상임위 심사 과정에서 국회의원 상호간의 협의를 통해 얼마든지 해결할 수 있다”면서 “국고 지원은 혹시 사업비가 부족하게 될 경우 이를 지원하도록 하는 것이지 가덕도신공항과 같이 전액 국비로 건설하겠다는 것이 아닐뿐더러 지원이 필요하다 하더라도 종전부지 개발이 완료되는 2032년 이후로, 2030년 완공을 목표로 추진되는 가덕도신공항과는 시기가 달라 정부의 재정여력 또한 크게 문제될 것이 없다.”고 강조했다.
