【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=서영교 더불어민주당 최고위원 후보(서울 중랑갑 국회의원)는 대구·경북을 전격 방문한다. 

오는 6일 오후 4시 30분 호텔인터불고에서 최고위원 후보자 합동연설회가 개최 예정인 가운데 서영교 최고위원 후보가 대구·경북을 방문해 지역의 민심과 지역 현안을 듣는 자리를 가진다고 밝혔다.

서영교 최고위원 후보는 현재 서울 중랑구(갑)을 지역구로 둔 3선 국회의원이지만, 상주가 고향으로 알려진다.

자신을 ‘대구·경북의 딸’이라고 강조한 서영교 후보는 지난 21대 대통령 선거에서도 이재명 후보가 대구·경북 지역을 방문할 당시 그와 함께 상주·안동 지역 유세에 참여했다.

그 밖에도 고향 상주를 비롯한 경북 일대를 수시로 방문해 주민들과 소통하며 지역구인 중랑구(갑) 못지않게 고향을 챙기는 모습을 보였다.

서영교 후보는 입법과 정책으로도 대구·경북지역의 지원에 앞장서 왔다. 

행안위원장으로서 지역주민이 지방자치단체에 기부하면 세제 혜택과 함께 지역특산품을 답례로 제공하는 내용이 담긴 ‘고향사랑기부금법’을 통과시켜 지역 경제 활성화에 도움을 주었고, 지방재정 지원을 강화하는 <지방자치법> 전문개정을 통해 대구·경북 지역을 비롯한 지역에 국가차원에서 더 많은 예산지원이 가능하게 했다. 

또 대한민국시도민회연합과 협의하여 <지방소멸 대응 특별법>을 발의해 대안인 <인구감소지역 지원 특별법>이 본회의를 통과하도록 결정적인 역할을 한 것으로 알려진다.

서영교 후보는 “일 잘하고 투쟁력 있는 제가 윤석열 정부의 오만과 무능, 정치보복을 끊어내고 더불어민주당의 승리를 만드는 최고위원이 되겠다.”면서 “ 민주당의 혁신과 개혁은 이기는 것이다. 야무지고 똑 부러지게 윤석열 정부의 비리를 낱낱이 세상에 밝혀 이기는 민주당을 만들겠다. <민생안전대책단>을 만들고 민생을 최우선으로 생각하는 민생정당을 만들겠다. 권역별 연동형 비례대표제를 통해 전국 정당을 이끌어 더불어민주당 혁신을 이루겠다.”고 다짐했다.
