【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자= 대구시는 오는 13일 강대식·이인선 국회의원과 함께 ‘UAM 지역 시범서비스 및 산업육성 전략’에 관한 포럼을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

12일, 대구시에 따르면 이번 포럼은 기업, 연구기관, 학계 등 각계 전문가들이 모여 지역 UAM 시범서비스의 필요 조건과 앞으로의 추진 과제를 논의하기 위해 마련됐다. 

포럼의 첫 번째 주제 발표자로 참석하는 전정규 한화시스템 부장은 UAM 기체(eVTOL) 개발 현황 및 초기 사업계획에 대해 발표한다. 자사가 개발 중인 기체개발 진행상황과 UAM 산업생태계 구성요소 전반에 관해 설명하고 안정적이고 합리적인 초기 사업화 조건의 중요성을 강조할 예정이다.

이어 김명현 한국교통연구원 부연구위원은 다양한 교통분야 연구 노하우와 데이터를 기반으로 ‘UAM의 도심 교통서비스 외 광역 교통, 지역 연계수단 등 활용 가능성에 대해 발표한다.

마지막으로 김현덕 경북대학교 첨단정보통신융합산업기술원장이 대구 미래모빌리티 산업육성을 위한 UAM 시범도시 운용 전략에 대해 발표한다. 

주제발표 후에는 이윤철 한국항공대학교 교수를 좌장으로 UAM 지역시범사업 추진 시 앞으로의 과제와 성공적인 사업의 조건, 산업육성 방안에 대한 전문가 토론이 이어진다.

대구는 전국 모빌리티 생산의 19.7%를 차지할 정도로 탄탄한 모빌리티 부품 기업군을 형성하고 있어 UAM 사업으로 전환에 유리하며, 전국 최고의 자율주행 시범운행지구를 모범적으로 운영하고 있어 자율차와 UAM을 연결한 통합교통서비스를 제공하기에 적합한 인프라를 보유했다.

특히 대구경북신공항은 설계 단계부터 UAM과 항공이 공존하는 교통 허브 구축이 가능해 시범도시부터 상용화, 특화도시 조성에 이르는 일련의 과정을 대구 지역 내에서 실현할 수 있다는 점이 최대 강점이라고 판단하고 있다.

이번 포럼을 공동주최한 국민의힘 강대식·이인선 국회의원은 지역 역량을 결집해 대구가 지역 시범도시로 선정될 수 있도록 집중 지원할 예정이다.

홍준표 대구시장은 “UAM은 미래 도심교통의 핵심으로 대구경북신공항 건설과 연계해 시너지를 발휘할 수 있다”라며, “우리 대구가 UAM 시대를 앞서 열어갈 수 있도록 힘을 모아주시길 바란다”라고 말했다.

After the presentation, expert discussions will be held on future tasks, conditions for successful projects, and ways to foster the industry when promoting the UAM regional pilot project, chaired by Professor Lee Yoon-cheol of Korea Aerospace University.
