3일 민주당 대구시당은 “홍준표 대구시장의 페이스북 글 내용을 전적으로 찬성한다”고 밝혔다.

홍 시장은 페이스북을 통해 여론조사 무용론을 제기하면서 "응답률 15% 이하는 발표를 금지하고 이른바 보정은 하지 말아야 한다”고 주장했다.

그러면서 “2011년 7월 전당대회 때 3억원을 주면 10%는 조작해 주겠다고 제의한 어느 여론조사 기관이 다시금 생각난다”고 말해 눈길을 끌었다.

이에 대해 민주당 대구시당은 “여론조사 기관의 우후죽순과 더불어 응답율이 현저하게 못 미치는 여론조사를 발표하고 그것으로 여론을 호도하는 것, 사실 그건 민주주의 사회의 큰 적이다”고 지적했다.

또한 “이번 기회에 대구시정의 여론조사 인용 행태도 수정되었으면 한다”고 꼬집었다. 

민주당 대구시당은 “박정희 동상 문제로 매일신문과 한길리서치가 수행한 여론조사 인용을 하면서 대구시민이 많이 찬성한다는 주장은 하지 말아야 한다”며 “그런 것이 형용모순이다”라고 강조했다.

The Daegu City Party of the Democratic Party emphasized, “On the issue of the Park Chung-hee statue, we should not claim that many Daegu citizens are in favor while citing opinion polls conducted by Maeil Shinmun and Hangil Research,” and added, “That is a contradiction in description.”
