이날 협의회에서는 시·도별 개별로 운영되는 교원배상책임보험을 통합·일괄가입하는 방안을 논의하는 등 10개 안건을 심의하고 ‘생각을 꺼내는 교육 국제 바칼로레아(IB)’를 주제로 한 강은희 교육감의 강의가 실시되었다.

또한 23일에는 IB 월드스쿨 인증학교인 사대부초·중·고등학교를 방문해 IB프로그램 수업을 참관할 예정으로 전국 시·도교육청에서는 시도교육감협의회 총회와는 별개로 IB프로그램 참관만을 위해 서울, 부산, 대전, 경기, 충북, 충남, 전북 등 전국의 장학진들이 대구를 방문한다.

강은희 교육감은 “이번 총회가 전국 시·도교육청의 IB교육에 대한 관심으로 대구에서 개최되는 만큼, 학생 스스로 배우는 방법을 학습하도록 하는 IB교육이 앞으로 전국적으로 확산되는 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다.”고 말했다.
